Mr Paco Wu has been dedicated to elevating the professional standards of the Hong Kong accounting industry for many years and is active in the development of youth and community services in Hong Kong.
In terms of industry development, Mr Wu served as the President of The Society of Chinese Accountants and Auditors, where he worked to optimise and organise various types of training courses and forums. This allowed accounting professionals to stay updated on the latest industry developments and helped them meet the challenges and seize new opportunities of the new era. At the same time, Mr Wu actively visits tertiary institutions to promote the accounting profession and explain the latest industry developments to students in accounting and business departments, encouraging them to join the field after graduation to relieve manpower shortages and promote sustainable development.
In terms of youth development, Mr. Wu is committed to fostering young accounting professionals. He served as the President of Junior Chamber International Island, where he organized various social work projects, encouraging and leading young people to learn through practice and nurturing youth leaders to bring a positive impact to society. Additionally, Mr. Wu serves as a school governor for primary and secondary schools and participates in the mentorship programmes of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, assisting students in exploring their potential and planning their career paths as a mentor.
In terms of community service, Mr Wu founded a charity and serves as the Founding President of the World Charity Association. He has long focused on supporting disadvantaged groups and has enthusiastically participated in various community activities for over 20 years, including flag-selling fundraisers, visiting elderly people living alone and in elderly homes, visiting children’s homes and correctional facilities, distributing gift bags, organising large-scale banquets, blood donation drives, and beach clean-ups. Furthermore, he pays special attention to the growth and development of teenagers, serving those in need and promoting a culture of care through activities such as financial management games for primary students, live-action Monopoly for youth, and joint-school Chinese debating competitions for secondary students.
Mr Wu's outstanding contributions are recognised by all sectors. He was honoured as a Hong Kong Outstanding Volunteer in 2024 and was awarded the Outstanding Alumni of the Faculty of Business and the School of Accounting and Finance of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2025.
